So much to say - Ramble.
The longer you leave it the more there is to ramble about. This post could go on forever so I will try and keep it as neat as possible…
Firstly I appear to have been listening to nothing but the entire PJ Harvey catalogue for the last 2 weeks - always liked her but, this is taking the biscuit. I guess the overall sounds fit in very well with what we are currently mixing. That plus in stark contrast, the new Little Dragon/DJ Shadow tune - crazy good! Go check it out.
Brit awards soon. they’re casting votes. Better shine up my suit to go and receive my Outstanding Contribution to Music Award.
Outstanding Contribution to FIT!
So we did that album of ours, it all got recorded. 3 days in wiltshire doing the live band sessions. That was intense, non stop, little sleep, much concentration. I was so massively proud of our scotch drum machine Andy ‘Alfonso’ Goodall and our very own bass/guitar feel monster Lyla Foy. The results were ideal! Personally I was constantly worried about what wire went where so I was on a sort of autopilot.
Then Vocals - a solid week and a half all in all! With the weekend off I think. Got pure Gold there from the Foy.
Up until christmas we did a first run of mixes, tied things together sound wise and pointed it all in the right direction.
And now we have chosen, mixed and mastered a Single as a pre-release to the Album!! It’s called ‘Play’, a steady, heavy, catchy and nonchalant number which should hopefully worm it’s way into your ears like a big old… ear worm. Backed up by B-side ‘Body Naked’, an atmospheric, dreamlike, heartbeat driven sexperience. That will be up for free download soon as an aperitif, then the single will be released late feb.
Very soon we will be shooting the video for this single - under the direction and technical genius of the great Joe Morris. It’s going to mess with you.
Many thanks to Oli Deakin of Bear Driver/Olfar, Mr Adventure Club Records for mastering our stuff and agreeing to put it out :) - that’s a cute smiley face.
We’re playing at the Wilmington Arms on the 23rd of Feb, a Murmur Box Event. We will be celebrating this release then.
The Album will then be out in Spring!
